Juvenile Rehab Record for Police Academy?

Question by Skittles: Juvenile rehab record for Police Academy?
I’m 23 and I’m preparing to enter the police academy. I haven’t applied yet but I have a question about the background check. When I was 14-15 I entered a rehabilitation clinic for minor drug use and also entered a mental health facility for depression (both voluntary). I was in the rehab for two weeks and the mental health facility for about a week. I haven’t had any problems since and have used no drugs since. Since it happened when I was a juvenile, will the police academy still be able to access those records and if they can will they hold it against me? I live in PA by the way. If they will hold it against me, is there anyway for me to fight that? I have never gotten in trouble with the police and have been clean since the rehab. Is there any way I can get those records erased?

There are several good places in both states and several organizations that can help you. It is hard not know what your problem/addiction is to recommend a place. Each place may specialize in different areas. Some places to all kinds of rehab however they are usually really good or recommend for one thing. You need to find a place that specializes in your problem/addiction. Here are some places and also websites that tell about the organizations to help you and what each rehab specializes in. Also there are places that are all male or female if you prefer that. It also depends if you are looking for a day program, inpatient or outpatient program. The websites below can help you find places that will meet your needs.
This website is wonderful we have recommend it to several people (used to work in mental health) they have a 24 hour hotline that can help you find a place.

Ambien Addiction – Where to Go for Help?

Question by chackoperformance: Ambien Addiction – Where to go for help?
I’m really having trouble getting away from taking ambien. I was doctor shopping until it all blew up in my face recently and now all 3 doctors that were writing prescriptions have threatened to tell every pharmacy in colorado not to fill out the prescriptions for it. It’s not that I was taking the drug to get high (in fact I’ve told the doctors this), nor was I dealing it. It just took larger and larger doses to work to put me to sleep and if i try to sleep with out it… well forget it. Ever since the drug came out, I have had a normal sleep schedule. Since this happened I’ve been getting about 2-3 hours of sleep a night (if that). The only other medication that worked for me was Alprazolam but it left me feeling hung over for hours the next day.

Do People With Drug Addictions Go to Mental Hospitals or Institutions?

Question by Audrey Rickard: Do people with drug addictions go to mental hospitals or institutions?
I am writing a one act play and the characters are living in a mental hospital. One suffers from hallucinations and schizophrenia. The other is a heroin addict and the last suffers from social anxiety and hates change. I was wondering, do people with drug addictions go where people with other mental illnesses go? Thank you! It would really help!
