I am doing a project for my addictions class, almost everyone has gone through an addiction or knows a loved one who has. (This includes drugs, alcohol, shopping, self-harm, eating disorder, anything that has an aspect of addicting characteristics) Your response will be completely anonymous on my project.
Please just write a personal definition of addiction, and if you would like, a little explanation from personal experience to go with it!

And please don’t say it is a gateway drug…The gateway drug is already legal and that is alcohol. There aren’t any potheads that smoked before they drank and there aren’t any crackheads that smoked crack before they got drunk.

I see no benefit to making it legal. Unless you can show that there is a benefit to changing the law, it should not be changed.

Most of the stories are about people dying, drug addiction, car crashes, ect. Is there a psychological term for this?

they usually tend to be pathological liars. there is a compulsion to lie about even menial details to make their stories more interesting, which often stems from feeling uncomfortable in social situations (which may or may not be due to low self-esteem).

A key aspect of behavior which can damage health is the taking of recreational drugs. Health psychology seeks to understand that behavior.)
