What Is a Therapeutic Community?

Question by M L: What is a therapeutic community?

Best answer:

Answer by 9Suns
Therapeutic community is a term applied to a participative, group-based approach to long-term mental illness, personality disorders and drug addiction. The approach is usually residential with the clients and therapists living together, is based on milieu therapy principles and includes group psychotherapy as well as practical activities.

Therapeutic communities have gained some reputation for success in rehabilitation and patient satisfaction in Britain and abroad. In Britain, ‘democratic analytic’ therapeutic communities have tended to specialise in the treatment of moderate to severe personality disorders and complex emotional and interpersonal problems. The evolution of therapeutic communities in the United States has followed a different path with hierarchically arranged communities (or concept houses) specialising in the treatment of drug and alcohol dependence.

Are Christian Drug Rehab Clinics Any Good?

Question by carl: Are Christian drug rehab clinics any good?

They will employ all of the typical “scientifically-proven” methods of breaking addictions. They may incorporate God into the process (oh no!), but they’re usually also much cheaper than non-religious drug rehab.

Does Anyone Know of a Free, or Cheap, Non Faith Based, Non 12 Step, Meth Addiction Treatment Program?

Question by Solomon: Does anyone know of a free, or cheap, non faith based, non 12 step, meth addiction treatment program?
With all the hype about meth addiction and it’s evils you would think it would be easy to find help. Not so far.
I have been looking for a free, or cheap, non faith based, non 12 step meth addiction outpatient program in the Phoenix Metro area. Something with counselling and medical supervision would be ideal. I cannot afford to not be working since I am self employed. I need to quit, and want to be clean. The cycle must be broken. Does anybody know how to help?

Does the Gov Keep Drugs Illegal So Prices Wont Drop & They Can Keep Finding Rooms Stacked With Untracable CASH

Question by #1Patriot: Does The Gov keep Drugs illegal So prices wont drop & they can keep finding Rooms Stacked with untracable CASH
The Gov. has admitted that the war on drugs can not be won and it is a well known fact that if drugs were legal most kids would not even try them to start (Loses the rebellion factor). Other countries have stopped spending $ Billions on enforcement and put that $ into education and treatment all but eliminating drug abuse in these counties. More than 1/2 of the people in American prisons are there on drug convictions,is there a link between the $ being made by those who build and supply the prisons and the donations they make to our law makers. Mexico was 1 day from legalizing small amounts of drug possession to stop all killing in there country, Bush called the President of Mexico and the next day that plan was scrapped, If you follow the $ who stands to lose the most after the Drug cartels who would be put out of biz if drugs were legal?
