I have a friend who idolizes someone who used to do heroin (that person’s dead now). I guess my friend really wanted to know what her idol saw in heroin that she began trying it too, and now she’s hooked. I want to help her, even if it’s just by finding a drug rehab for her. Any suggestions as to how I could convince her to get herself treated too?

Our problem is a cocaine addiction. Does the 12-step program really demean the individual? Is the narcanon (Ron Hubbard) approach as good, better? Do you have personal experience?

The Narconon approach will not be as effective as any other detox out there because Narconon does not actually TREAT or REHABILITATE in any truly effective way.

Yes. I know of a rehab facility that uses a method called suboxone treatment along with therapy to achieve success.
